The Lekotek Ambassadors, a group of young professionals in Chicago who fundraise for the National Lekotek Center are hosting a Ball at the Metropolitan Club. The event, entitled Soaring Above the Skyline, will take place on Friday, October 21, on the 66th floor of Willis Towers above Chicago’s incredible skyline.
Dining and dancing along with live music, artisan cocktails and the thrill of a luxurious silent auction will fill the evening. Tickets sales, corporate & personal sponsors and donations will fill the lives of children with disabilities with the opportunities to participate in the National Lekotek Center’s therapeutic play programs.
Lekotek promotes play as a highly effective way to encourage growth, development and learning. “Children learn more through play because it’s fun, self-motivated and stimulating. The basis of every child life begins with play and we all need that opportunity.” says Macy Welsh, Director of the National Lekotek Center. “We are so grateful for the Lekotek Ambassadors, who give their time to fundraise so more children with disabilities will be sponsored into Lekotek programs.”
This is the second year for the Ambassador Ball and the members have worked hard to get the word out about this worthy event. Megan Cleary, co-chairman of Lekotek Ambassador Group shares with donors and sponsors how her involvement has personally motivated her. “Knowing how truly exceptional children and families with special needs are and seeing some of the daily struggles they face, we strive to be a bright place in their lives.”
Lekotek Ambassadors (lekotek.org) are actively encouraging attendance and tickets are $90 per person. Corporate sponsors and donors are gratefully accepted. Co-chairman of Lekotek Ambassador Group, Carrie Grady adds,"Bringing awareness to an organization that works to better the lives of children and families has been extremely rewarding and our success in fundraising in a short period of time is a true testament to what can be accomplished when people work together for a common good."
If you are unable to attend but would like to make a donation, please send a check payable to: National Lekotek Center, 2001 N. Clybourn, Ste 100, Chicago IL 60614
