Utility executives will gather at the upcoming Oracle OpenWorld San Francisco conference, October 2-6, 2011 at Moscone Center, to share new ways to leverage Oracle applications, technology and systems that help enable smart grid and other priority industry programs.
As part of a series of more than 40 sessions, demonstrations and networking events focused on utilities trends and solutions, executives from, Pacific Gas & Electric, Baltimore Gas & Electric, Bord Gáis Eireann, EDF Energy, El Paso Electric, Green Mountain Power, GRTgaz and Lee County Electric Cooperative will deliver presentations on how they work with Oracle on technology initiatives that help support strategies for improved efficiency, performance and customer service.
Also at Oracle OpenWorld, Oracle Utilities will host its general session on Monday, October 3 at 11 am. to address some of the biggest challenges and opportunities facing the utilities industry and how Oracle is working with its valued customers to address them. Specifically, Oracle Utilities' Rodger Smith and utilities track sponsor Accenture's Greg Guthridge will discuss the changing role of the customer and how utilities should evolve the customer experience, understanding the need to balance it with the appropriate cost to serve. They will explore the need to rethink the meter-to-cash process with the implementation of smart technology and the need to take differentiation through the whole value chain.
