Daniel Bottero is painting Palm Beach red...and yellow…and green…and brown…and blue… and every other color under the rainbow as he opens a new showroom located at 208 Brazilian Avenue in Palm Beach.
The showroom, situated in the center of town, is completely dedicated to several of the artist’s works consisting of mixed media on canvas. The scale of work varies from as small as 5” x 5” to monumental canvases that tend to be in the scale of 56” x 58” and larger. Art Director, Farley Rentschler saw the opportunity to have a contemporary show room in Palm Beach where there are so many art collectors that live here on both a seasonal and annual basis. “Our space is warm and welcoming in keeping with the images of Bottero’s paintings.” Says Retschler. In addition, the showroom is establishing an event series called “Art Talk Tuesday” which will launch in November with select speakers discussing art aspects in the daily world.
The native Argentine is currently exhibiting in the galleries of the Ann Norton Sculpture Garden where his featured “The Love of the Poet” series is on display with other abstract works through the month of October. In addition to collaborations with the Ann Norton Sculpture Garden, Bottero and is working with several entities throughout the season including Susan G. Komen, The Center for Creative Education, Lynn University, The Norton Museum, and other educational and institutional points of interest.
By expressing his experiences and emotions, Bottero’s canvases are filled with bold colors and dramatic images that are contemporary and clean-lined. Says Cynthia Palmieri, Executive Director of the Ann Norton Sculpture Garden,“Bottero’s work presents us with the excitement and intensities of the artist and yet creates quiet moments within the painting, offering the viewer moments of reflection.”
Says Bottero,“Each painting I create is an essential part of my inner being. Our past, our present and our future all influence my paintings. Yesterday, today, life, New York, new encounters, loves, dreams, loneliness, strange noises and sorrows. Each painting I create is an essential part of my inner being.”
The artist, grew up in Buenos Aires and graduated from the National School of Fine Arts, Buenos Aires. Upon graduation, Bottero moved to Italy where he earned his Master’s Degree at the Academia Italiana di Belle Arti in Lucca, Italy and then moved to Paris where he resided from 1986 to 1990. Bottero moved to the U.S. in 1990 and has called the U.S. home ever since.
Bottero’s modernist works are featured in the corporate collections of Bank of America, Chemical Bank, Citibank, Xerox Corporation, Avon Corporation, Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan Chase Bank and are a part of many private collections including those of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Mark Shriver, Isaac Mizrahi, Fred Stern, Dan Marino, Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Al Pacino, Steven Segal and Oscar de la Hoya. In addition, Bottero (botterocollector.com) has exhibited at several famous museums throughout the world and several paintings have been featured at both Sotheby’s and Christie’s auction houses in New York.
