Many see the designer labels endorsed by celebrities and want the same. At the same time, it’s a lot easier to look like Kate Moss when you also have Kate Moss’ money.
This past week people were flocking to high-street in London to spend nearly £800 for a purse from Burberry. Its new 'Manor' handbag fueled soaring sales at the high-street chain. The quilted leather handbag is so popular that it is not even possible to buy one - even if you have £790 to spare. The reason for its popularity? You guessed it – the handbag is endorsed by Kate Moss.
Fine, it would be nice to own the same handbag as Miss Moss – but the price is an issue for many of today’s consumers. Just in case you don’t want to do the conversion in your head – an £800 handbag is $1,500 USD.
Meanwhile the average selling price for a designer handbag in Beverly Hills last year was $2,000 USD. And some were selling for $4,000 USD and up!
Nelly Sutjiadi, Director of Marketing for FractionPrice.com, describes the prices being charged for handbags these days as “handbag madness”. Says Nelly “I wouldn’t pay $4,000 for a handbag – not when you can get a designer-inspired handbag of tremendous quality for a fraction of that price”.
It’s true that today’s fashion-conscious generation really wants to keep up appearances, and how they look is a very important part of their life-style. Hey – if you don’t look like you’re in – you’re probably out! But spending 4,000 dollars on a handbag is probably going over the deep end.
One merchant who provides affiliates with the ability to provide high-end goods to customers is FractionPrice.com. They sell online accessories like sunglasses, jewelry, watches, sarongs, Italian charms, pendants, and yes – even handbags. And they do it for a price that allows the young and trendy to stay current, without blowing up the credit card!
FractionPrice.com (in fact the name says it all) is a way for young, hip, fashion-conscious shoppers to get their fix of the latest fashions and designs, without the designer-label price.
