Mediatonic, the London-based game studio specialising in high-quality interactive content and leveraging established IP for digital gaming platforms, has been placed as ‘one to recognise’ in this year’s Sunday Times Tech Track, an index of the UK’s fastest-growing private companies. The listing in the up-and-coming section of the renowned index is a testament to Mediatonic’s growth from its early days as a white-label Flash game developer to a long term partner for leading media companies and publishers seeking to benefit from the explosive growth in smartphone and online gaming sectors.
The recognition comes after Mediatonic’s entry into Facebook’s own preferred developer program earlier this year, which saw the company listed as a ‘go-to’ studio after proving its compliance with the social network’s internal standards for interactive content. The placement in the Tech Track 2011 Ones to Recognise cements 12 months of explosive growth for Mediatonic, which has also seen the studio drastically increase its team size and in turn, its scope for projects.
Paul Croft, director of games, Mediatonic comments: “This is a fantastic placement for Mediatonic and we’re hugely proud to be recognised by Tech Track 2011.” He continues,“We’re experiencing phenomenal demand and as we look forward to expanding further and delivering even more projects to our high standards, we hope to be finding ourselves ranked on more indexes with the reputation of Tech Track.”
Dave Bailey, CEO, Mediatonic adds: “This ranking is a great indicator of our continued growth and our emerging position in the industry. As smartphones and social gaming continue to mature, we’re creating a solid talent-base in London and helping to establish the UK as a hotspot in the global marketplace for interactive digital content.”
