Korenix is pleased to announce it has received the EN 50121-4 European Railway EMC standard approval for its ruggedized JetNet 6710G High Power 802.3at PoE and JetNet 6810G Booster PoE managed switches with 8+2Giga ports assuring their reliable functioning in railway platforms and trackside installations. According to the document, both models with M12 and RJ45 connectors have successfully passed and even exceeded the basic conformity requirements, including the electromagnetic emission and immunity requirements imposed by the European railway standard – EN50121-1 and EN50121-4.
With this verification of conformity Korenix assures that its switches have the necessary heavy-duty mechanical design and intelligent software functions to be accepted and successfully installed in railway projects across Europe.
The EN 50121-4 standard defines the limits for emission and immunity and provides the performance requirements/criteria for signaling and telecommunication apparatus that are being used in railway trackside and platform deployments.
JetNet 6710G and JetNet 6810G series are 8-port PoE plus 2-port Gigabit switches designed with rugged RJ45 Ethernet and solid M12 connectors for performing stable vibration resistant video transmission in railway applications.
The 8 ports of JetNet 6710G series are compliant with both 802.3af PoE and 802.3at high power PoE standards and can deliver up to 15.4W and 30W power per port to drive the high-end PDs, such as the 802.11 wireless APs, PTZ cameras, network dome cameras and other low and high power requiring devices. Whereas, all of the 8 PoE ports of JetNet 6810G series, which specifically target the on-board vehicle surveillance market, are compliant with IEEE 802.3af standard and provide built-in isolated 24V Booster, allowing users to automatically convert 24VDC source to 48V power output to drive the standard PoE cameras in transit systems without additional device integration costs.
Both switches support Korenix MSR ring redundancy technology enabling users to provide highly reliable and uninterrupted video transmission without any network loss or link failure via the extremely short recovery time (less than 5milliseconds). In addition, with the featured LLDP and JetView Pro intelligent network management system, users can easily and efficiently maintain network while guaranteeing the high quality and security of the transmitted data via advanced management protocols, such as QoS, IGMP snooping, VLAN, DHCP option 82 etc.
By combining all of the mentioned above features into their ruggedized enclosures with solid RJ45 (JetNet 6710G-RJ / 6810G-RJ) and M12 (JetNet 6710G-M12 / 6810G-M12) connectors, as well as the -40~60oC wide operating temperature range, the switches ensure reliable and stable video surveillance not only in harsh environments of railway applications, but also in public utilities, traffic control systems, etc.
