Santia House is now home to 380 of the health and safety consultancy’s 600-strong UK team, and consolidates staff into a single building. The company has also today opened a dedicated asbestos testing facility locally.
Chief Executive Officer Jane Hext welcomed everyone to Santia House and said the move represents a new era for the company. She said: “Santia is the partner of choice for health and safety consultancy for many of the best known names in British Industry. This move of our HQ and Lab facilities provides a centre of excellence allowing us to develop the best solutions for both our clients and our consultants who are based throughout the UK and internationally.
“Our business has a proud history in Wales and it was important when we started the search for new premises that we remain in Wales, in order to retain our highly qualified staff and continue to support the local economy that has supported us.
The health and safety agenda has never been more important; the Government is proposing to reduce the administrative bureaucracy for businesses but their responsibility for the safety of their employees and the public is as critical as ever. Santia helps businesses to take a sensible assessment of their level of risk and put in practical cost effective solutions to protect and improve their business performance. Businesses need to think about the wellbeing of their people, the safety of their property and ultimately their corporate social responsibility.”
Matthew Rees ‘It’s great to see a thriving company like Santia keeping the faith and staying in Wales. During these tough times when we hear of so many businesses folding day in day out, it is important for companies to stay in the area and support the local economy.”
Then to the cheers of the assembled staff, Matthew deftly passed a signed rugby ball across reception to Santia’s Chief Financial Officer, Alyn Franklin, who plays second row and is Club Captain of Chepstow Rugby Club. The signed rugby ball will be on display in reception.
