The Continental Group (TCG), a FirstService Residential Management company, announced today it will be the Entertainment Sponsor for the First Annual Orlando Downtown Night Out, to be held on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, from 4 pm. to 10 pm. at Lake Eola Park in Orlando. Downtown Night Out is hosted by the non-profit Friends of Lake Eola, which recognizes the Park as the symbolic and historic heart of the City of Orlando. Its mission is to protect, enhance and beautify the park for the enjoyment of all. The event is an opportunity for those living and working downtown to mingle and learn more about Lake Eola Park and their community as a whole.
Participants will include downtown businesses, restaurants, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, neighborhood organizations, and local officials from the downtown Orlando community. Entertainment will include Orlando’s First Lady of Jazz, Miss Jacqueline Jones, and All the Above, a classic-modern-rock band.
“TCG is excited to be an inaugural sponsor of Downtown Night Out which is the kick-off party for Friends of Lake Eola. Many of the fine Associations we manage see Lake Eola Park as their front yard thus we all care to be the park’s ally and advocate. We support Friends of Lake Eola’s efforts as they recognize the Park as the symbolic and historic heart of the City of Orlando, to protect, enhance and beautify the park for the enjoyment of all,” said Fernando Dominguez, TCG Senior V.P. Central Florida Region.
General admission is $5 per ticket and also allows guests to enter in several raffles to be given away throughout the night. Residents outside the downtown area are also encouraged to attend the event. It is important to remember that Eola Street between Central and Robinson will be closed to traffic to allow vendor access to the event. The street closure begins at 7 am. southbound and 2:30 pm. northbound; with both lanes reopening at 10 am.
