Wolters Kluwer Health announced today that Pharmacy OneSource, software-as-a-service provider of Sentri7, an infection prevention surveillance, documentation and reporting application, is hosting a complimentary webinar with Brenda Vason, RN, BSN, CIC on "CLABSI Prevention Strategies for the Pediatric Patient."
Prevention of central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) in the pediatric population is unique and challenging. Vason will provide information on prevention efforts and barriers relative to preventing CLABSIs in the medical, surgical and the pediatric ICU patient. She will review how to design a hospital-wide program to address these barriers, change culture, decrease and sustain line infection rates. Vason will explain how team work; staff education and physician champions are keys to implementing a successful program.

About the Presenter
Brenda Vason, RN, BSN, CIC, Director of Children's Hospital of Alabama's Infection Prevention and Control Department, has been a certified infection prevention nurse for over 15 years. She has worked at Children’s in various capacities for over 25 years. She received her degree from University of Alabama-Birmingham in 1978. Brenda is a member of the Association of Professionals for Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) where she serves as membership secretary for the local chapter. She has published various articles related to sharps injury prevention and infection prevention surveillance.
