Simformotion™ LLC – a leader in heavy equipment simulator development – is proud to announce that it has selected Wayne “T.C.” Carroll Jr. as the 2011 Cat® Simulators Scholarship winner. The winner receives a $2,000 scholarship to support the pursuit of any heavy equipment-related career.
Applications were accepted from students enrolled in an accredited heavy equipment related program at an institution that utilizes Cat Simulators as part of their training program. Carroll, graduate of Bath-Haverling High School, N.Y., is attending Alfred State College, School of Applied Technology, N.Y., to study heavy equipment operations.
Carroll is not only active in classes at college he is also active in his community. Teachers and community leaders alike, speak highly of Carroll’s talents and accomplishments. He has participated in volunteer initiatives that the school coordinates, such as building homes with Habitat for Humanity and projects with the Wellsville animal shelter. The heavy equipment class also works around the college to support the maintenance staff, such as constructing a parking a lot for the school’s machines.
Simformotion Vice President Renee Gorrell says,“The skilled trades help build the world. We created this scholarship to encourage students to pursue careers like heavy equipment operations. The vocational trades are extremely valuable and ensuring that the best and brightest students are able to become well trained in the trade of their choice means there will be a pool of qualified candidates to build the cities of tomorrow.”
