Photographer Ajani Truth provides the venue at his 3rd annual Faces of Truth Beauty Marathon, an all day beauty photography event created by Ajani to highlight the work of both the area’s top and emerging artists. Alist Graphics out of Washington, DC is a professional web and design company run by designers Candace Hicks and Courtney Savoy. Girlwithwords Media is a web-based writing and digital media company founded by Candace Habte. FSL Cosmetics, a budding natural cosmetic company, which stands for Feel, Smell, Look, is the brainchild of Kimberly Riley who is a chemical engineer/cosmetic chemist. JoElle Skincare was founded by professional Esthetician Joelle Lyons who has more than twelve years of experience in skin care. Lyons is the Personal Esthetician for First Lady Michelle Obama.
Bernie Clark is a professional manicurist and beauty educator based in Washington, DC. Some of her clients have included Mary Kay Inc and the Latin Grammy Awards. Professional Make-up artist, Koren, founder of EnKore Make-up, is one of the two male sponsors and has worked with everyone from MAC cosmetics, Delta Airlines, and Mercedes Benz. Inspired by showgirls, and with a background in theatre, Koren works in many facets of make-up and teaches worldwide. W. James Canty Jr., a DC-based Food photographer and designer, known as “The Foodographer” is also the owner of Chokolate Box (formerly Cupcake Status). The Chokolate Box is a new gourmet chocolate dessert company with delicious mini cupcakes.
