Ambleside Parish Centre Challenge – They needed a fast, cost effective, quality and reliable solution to enable them to be DDA compliant and provide access for anyone less able.

The Spec – The Disability Access Company™ Ltd were given the brief to design a bespoke, internal vertical platform lift needed to provide access over 3 levels within the centre. The lift had to provide 1 hour fire rating be delivered, installed & commissioned within 8 weeks. The lift needed to meet all the relevant Standards and Directives to ensure that the Parish Centre met the DDA requirements. The Access 9000 Series 1 platform lift was chosen.
The Solution – The Disability Access Company™ Ltd had manufactured similar bespoke lifts in the past so were able to produce a unit to the client’s requirements. The lift was positioned in the existing staircases with no structural opening or support required. This meant that no builders’ work was needed to accommodate the lift thus minimizing cost and reducing the site time required.
The Schedule – The Disability Access Company™ Ltd completed the installation on program and within budget.
