FilmBuff, a digital entertainment curation service offered by Cinetic Rights Management (CRM), announced today that documentaries on hip hop luminaries Twista and Big Pun will be made available on video-on-demand platforms in July. Mr. Immortality: The Life and Times of Twista and Big Pun: The Legacy were directed by Vlad Yudin and produced by Edwin Mejia co-founders of emerging independent production house Vladar Company.
“Film audiences love to get a behind the scenes look at the lives of their favorite artists. We are always on the lookout for films that give fans a glimpse of high profile personalities, so the story of these two hip hop legends were a perfect fit,” said Damian Benders, the Head of Marketing for FilmBuff. “Both of these films are great examples of work that can really find its audience with fans and music lovers online.
Mr. Immortality: The Life and Times of Twista tells the story of Chicago rapper Carl Terrell Mitchell, better known as Twista. He was listed in the Guinness World Book of Records in 1992, as the fastest rapper in the world with the ability to pronounce 11.2 syllables per second. Every syllable is perfect and every word is intelligible. The film features commentary from a host of industry heavyweights including Ne-Yo, Scott Storch, The Dream, Ron Artest, Big Boi, and Red Café. Mr. Immortality will be released to iTunes, Amazon & Xbox on July 5th via FilmBuff.
Big Pun: The Legacy was developed as a tribute to the late Bronx rapper Christopher Carlos Rios, better known as Big Pun. He was a fixture in the late 1990’s hip hop community and a member of the Terror Squad alongside fellow Bronx star Fat Joe. The film features interviews with Snoop Dog, DMX and Method Man among others and includes rare exclusive performance footage and interviews with Big Pun himself. FilmBuff will release the film to iTunes, Amazon & Xbox on July 5th.
