A California-based manufacturer and distributor of collectible film and television products, Sideshow Collectibles recently announced a plan to increase its yearly donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation with the help of fans and collectors. In the past, the company donated the $5,000 sum needed to fulfill one child’s wish, but Sideshow’s goal for 2011 is to raise over $25,000, enough to support at least five wishes, by sponsoring a ‘Collect For Life’ Auction with 100% of proceeds going to Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Orange County and the Inland Empire.
As a firm supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s mission, Sideshow Collectibles President Greg Anzalone states,“We believe in the work that Make-A-Wish is doing, and we’re proud to support them. The wishes that they grant are much more than just a fun couple of days to these kids and their families. Wishes allow these kids to set aside their struggle and live their dreams for a day – many times when days are limited.” Beginning July 20, 2011, Sideshow will start the eBay bidding for 11 one-of-a-kind collectibles, including signed statues, original paint applications and unique hand-made porcelain tiles.
About the Make-A-Wish Foundation®
The Make-A-Wish Foundation® was founded in 1980 after a little boy named Chris Greicius realized his heartfelt wish to become a police officer. Since then, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. The Foundation's mission reflects the life changing impact that a Make-A-Wish® experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors, and entire communities.
The Foundation now serves 69 chapters nationally and 28 internationally and has granted more than 148,000 wishes across the country. Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Orange County and the Inland Empire was established in 1983 with the fulfillment of 14-year-old Tamara's dream to see the clear blue waters of the Caribbean. Since then they have granted over 3,000 wishes to children in the Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties.
