From May 29, 2011 to June 9, 2011 Artist John Ross Palmer took a magical study-abroad adventure to Dublin, Ireland where he created a unique eleven- piece art series inspired by Ireland's capital. Together with his life and business partner, Ryan Lindsay, John enjoyed Dublin's top attractions including Aviva Stadium, Clontarf Castle and the Supreme Court at Four Courts. Although Artist John Ross Palmer loved every bit of his recent trip to Ireland, the highlight of the entire journey was undoubtedly the private meeting and tour of Leinster House (which houses the Irish Parliament). During this experience he met Ireland's Minister for Children Frances Fitzgerald. To her surprise and honor, Minister Fitzgerald was presented with a vibrant portrait of her created by Palmer. The stunning piece of art will be featured in the book that documents the largest commission project in the history of Palmer's career, Faces.
Frances was elected as T.D. for Dublin Mid West in 2011 to serve in the 31st Dail. Frances received over 9,000 final votes. Upon her election Frances was appointed Ireland's first ever Minister for Children. Frances was also Leader of the Opposition in the Senate on her election as a Senator to 23rd Seanad and previously served as T.D. for Dublion South East for ten years. She gained a B.Soc. Science in U.C.D. and an M.S.C. in Social Adminstration and Social Work in the London School of Economics. Prior to her election to the Dail, Frances was a high profile Chair of the National Women's Council of Ireland (1988-1992) and Vice President of the European Women's Lobby.
Upon his return from Ireland, Palmer received the latest issue of the Irish Independent's Weekend Review which highlighted John Ross Palmer's visit with Minister Fitzgerald, mentioning him as a "famous" American artist.
