PIKA Technologies Inc., a designer and manufacturer of telephony appliances, applications and plug-in media-processing hardware and software, announced today that three new critical applications for their WARP Plus applications platform are ready to ship.
The WARP Plus family of applications has been developed specifically for providers of hosted/cloud-based telephony solutions (i.e. hosted PBX) who face difficulties delivering a subset of capabilities from the cloud that were typically delivered by traditional customer premise equipment (CPE). PIKA has successfully completed testing of the WARP Plus with the popular BroadSoft® BroadWorks® product, and the platform is easily adaptable to other hosted PBX offerings.
In addition to on-premise paging, the WARP Plus will now offer local music on hold source, local and external IP survivability and GSM least cost routing.
David Clarke, Product Manager at PIKA Technologies, comments: “The WARP Plus removes sales obstacles hosted service providers encounter on a consistent basis. PIKA designed WARP Plus to arm providers with an option to meet increasing demand in the marketplace for affordable, easy to install applications. These three new applications allow them to be more competitive in the hosted PBX space by offering a compelling alternative to on-premise PBX products.”
These new applications build on the success of the platform’s initial application, on-premise paging, introduced in October 2010. The three new WARP Plus applications include a local music on hold source providing the ability to utilize a local source of audio that callers will hear when they are placed on hold. A local and external IP survivability feature which provides a backup connection(s) to the outside world (via wireless GSM) if the IP link to the service provider’s switching platform is lost. And, GSM least cost routing which allows calls placed from desktop telephones to mobile telephones to be cost-effectively routed over GSM trunks.
The new release will also contain a programming interface, or GUI, that will make it easy for customers to install WARP Plus and configure it to specific requirements.
