‘Bohemians’ by awardwinning playwright Miriam Gallagher has its US Premiere next week in Chicago. The production is by Nightblue Theatre who last year performed the World Premiere of Miriam's ‘Nasturtiums & Cherry Buns.’ Director is David Walters, who also directed the US Premiere of ‘Fancy Footwork.’
This ‘Irish Boxing Play’, commissioned by Dublin Theatre Festival, was later produced at London’s King Head Theatre and most recently by the New York International Fringe Festival.
Miriam Gallagher is a playwright, novelist & screenwriter whose work, staged and screened in Ireland, London, Paris, New York, Canada, South Africa & Australia, is profiled in Irish Women Writers: An A-Z Guide (2006, Greenwood Press, CT, USA). Theatrical/Musical Interludes celebrating Irish composers (Carolan; Field; Wallace; Balfe) were performed at Dublin’s National Concert Hall, on Rté Radio and at festivals here & abroad. 'Green Rain', celebrating Joan Trimble, the Enniskillen born composer was recently premiered in Joan’s home town.
