Muko, Kyoto, Japan, 2006/09/29 - The new version of "AGEphone" introduces call forwarding to the popular softphone by ageet. Call Forwarding is already a rare feature for a softphone, yet AGEphone even offers a choice of providers and "Provider Crossover".
ageet Corporation, experienced Japanese maker of VoIP software products such as the ActiveX VoIP Plug-In "microSIP Web Object" and the world’s probably smallest VoIP engine microSIP stack, today released a new Version of its popular Softphone "AGEphone". ageet stresses this is a major version upgrade which introduces Call Forwarding to their softphone which also allows for "Provider Crossover", the passing on of a call from one provider to another.
Call Forwarding is already a very rare feature for a softphone, yet AGEphone offers even more than the standard forwarding options. It allows for free choice of providers, which includes the provider you use for call forwarding - the call can even be "passed on" from one provider to another, e.g. you get called on your account at provider A, yet forward the call using your account at provider B - ageet talks about "Provider Crossover". The mechanism behind "Provider Crossover" is that AGEphone answers the call, and in realtime launches another call to the specified number, independently using the provider you specified. Calls can be forwarded both from and to landline, mobile or IP phones with no restrictions.
"This", says Representative Director Masato Okazaki, who claims to be an excessive VoIP user himself, "can come in very handy in combination with AGEphones ability to register to several providers simultaeneously: Even if you are not in front of your PC, you can receive VoIP calls via several different numbers and providers from all around the world, and forward them all to one single phone, e.g. your mobile phone, using the provider of your choice to keep phone costs at a minimum.".
According to ageet, the new Version of AGEphone gives even private VoIP users a new freedom when it comes to Call Forwarding and offers additional fields of application. The new version also contains several improvements on speech quality and UPnP connectivity. The setup menu has been revised and new options such as adding a dial prefix or suffix have been included.
AGEphone can be downloaded and purchased via ageet's homepage.
