The Petnership Project Holistic Wellness Pet Show, Canada’s first—and only—full-scale pet show of its kind, returns to Vancouver for its second year on April 30 and May 1, 2011. Located at the Hellenic Community Centre (at 4500 Arbutus Street in Vancouver) from 10 am. to 5 pm. both days, The Petnership Project focuses on the body, mind and spirit of our furry, feathered and tail-wagging friends. Admission is $11 per day for all online advanced ticket purchases (petnerships.com) and $16 per day at the door. Admission is free to children under 12 and seniors 65 and over. Launched in 2010 to strong acclaim from pet care professionals and consumers, the groundbreaking public event features a combination of trade show exhibitors and lectures.
With more than 40 exhibitors ranging from raw food manufacturers to pet acupuncture and herbal medicine specialists, the show also provides participants access to the latest information and specialists in holistic pet health and wellness. Lecture topics include the latest research and controversy over pet vaccinations, updates on stem cell transplantation, positive pet training approaches, how to hear what your animal is really “saying” to you and much more. There is also an opportunity for show attendees to “ask an animal pro.” Veterinarians, trainers, raw food experts, pet chiropractors and other authorities will be on hand for questions and no-charge 10-minute consultations.
Along with providing information on holistic and alternative approaches to caring for pets, The Petnership Project is also focused on showcasing a range of pets in need of a forever home. Several rescue organizations specializing in specific breeds will be on hand to provide information on adopting a rescue pet. People interested will be able to meet and interact with a range of potential pets that are available for adoption.
