Northwest Performance Software, Inc. today announces the major release of NetScanTools® Pro, Version 11, an all-in-one network discovery and information gathering toolkit designed for network engineers, network administrators, network training instructors and law enforcement investigators. This is a major release with a new user interface and several new tools.
NetScanTools Pro is software designed to provide information about IP addresses, hostnames, domain names, E: address and URLs automatically or with manual tools. Reports are viewed in the web browser for ease of printing, saving and sharing. NetScanTools Pro includes tools frequently used by network professionals on a daily basis. There are active discovery, passive discovery, packet capture, packet generation, and local system tools as well as tools like the extensive DNS toolset and Whois designed to retrieve information from third parties. NetScanTools Pro is designed for use on Microsoft Windows® Operating Systems.
The new user interface gives a whole new look while operating similarly to the previous version. New features include a Favorites section and the ability to use more than one tool simultaneously. The user interface is more than a facelift, major changes run deep within the program.
Tools have been clarified and organized by purpose. In some cases tools were split into two parts for clarity. Tools and the descriptions within tools were renamed to conform to industry standard conventions. Many tools were rewritten from the ground up to enhance operation and improve the user experience.
IPv6 support is new in NetScanTools Pro Version 11. Ping, some parts of the DNS tools and Whois now accept IPv6 input and there are plans to add more IPv6 support to other tools in subsequent releases.
NetScanTools Pro Version 11 adds and extends the concept of a Results Database first introduced in NetScanTools LE. The database is used to generate reports and automatically retain all query results for future review.
Automated Tools were completely rewritten to operate several of the manual tools for the user. The results are saved to the database. As with the manual tool reports, the Automated Tools reports are viewed in the web browser. The database allows retrieval of reports at a later date.
New Tools introduced in Version 11 include Connection Monitor, MAC Address to Manufacturer, Network Interfaces - Wireless, Routing Table - IPV4, and SNMP Scanner Tool. The SNMP tools now support SNMPv3.

Pricing and Availability
NetScanTools Pro version 11 is available now as both download and on CDROM. The cost is $249 for a single user license and includes one year maintenance. A fully portable USB Flash Drive version is also available for $299 which also includes one year maintenance.
