Rapid Recovery was founded to assist HVAC, mechanical and demolition contractors in meeting their 1992 Clean Air Act requirements for refrigerant recovery anywhere in the US. In order to do this, Rapid Recovery created two proprietary gas powered refrigerant recovery machines (AHRI Certified) to handle low, medium and high pressure needs, enabling the company to achieve faster recovery times than most common equipment. “Proper refrigerant recovery is very difficult, that difficulty creates the opportunity for Rapid Recovery to provide a valuable solution”. Rich Dykstra, Owner.
In 2009 alone, Rapid Recovery helped contractors reduce Carbon Dioxide (CO2) equivalent emissions by over 1.1 billion pounds in the US. To make 1.1 billion more comprehensible: The average American household has a carbon dioxide (CO2) footprint of 41,900 pounds per year. In 2009, we kept the carbon footprint equivalent of more than 26,253 households from reaching the atmosphere. Or, if you look at it in automobile terms, the staggering 1.1 billion pounds of CO2 is the equivalent to more than 105,500 cars driving for a year.
Many refrigerants are chlorofluorocarbons (CFC’s). CFC’s are the leading cause of Ozone depletion, which contributes to climate change and has negative human health impacts (such as increasing the risk of skin cancer). The Federal Clean Air Act prohibits the release of CFC’s to the environment.
In so doing all of it's work, Rapid Recovery was Awarded the National Demolition Association's 2011 Environmental Excellence Award at it's annual conference in Las Vegas, NV this week.
