PBL produces and delivers a wide range of soft drinks, table water, alcoholic products and other alternative beverages to more than 9,000 outlets in Mauritius. PBL brands include Coca Cola, Phoenix beer, Guinness and Smirnoff Ice among others. Their operation is based out of two production plants, a main distribution center and a few reserve warehouses.
The high throughput and limited available space at PBL’s facilities required SNS to ensure that processing time was at its minimum while the full visibility on batches, pallets and inventory movements is maintained. SNS configured and customized the Infor WM to enable options such as 2D barcode scanning, single scan receiving, advanced putaway processes, automated mixed pallet generation for picking as well as automated labeling from within the application.
The process of capturing data at the end of the production lines, loading and shipping to the main DC, receiving and putaway at the latter was tailored to be completed in just four scans.
The Infor WM software was integrated with both Coca Cola Basis System and Microsoft Navision ERP to minimize data entry. To ensure minimal hardware investment, SNS enabled the Infor WM to allow multiple pickers to use one picking station while maintaining visibility on individual tasks thus supporting pay for performance incentives.
