The “Sharing the Point Asian Tour” kicks off a series of free, half-day SharePoint events, which will take place in three Asian countries beginning with the first stop in Beijing on March 10. The goal of these community-centric SharePoint events is to educate and equip professionals in local Asian communities with insights into real-world SharePoint best practices. The “Sharing the Point Asian Tour” is scheduled to stop in the following locations:
March 10, 2011, Thursday: Beijing, China
March 12, 2011, Saturday: Manila, Philippines
March 14, 2011, Monday: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
The featured speakers of the “Sharing the Point Asian Tour” are world-renowned SharePoint evangelists Joel Oleson, Michael Noel, Paul Swider, Mark Miller, Rob LaMear and Dux Raymond Sy. In addition, John Anderson from the blog “SharePoint Blank, ” will accompany the tour as an embedded journalist, providing daily updates from the road, as well as extensive coverage of each tour stop.
Food and drinks will be provided to attendees during the events, and there will be numerous giveaways. Each event will feature specific content tracks for developers, administrators and business professionals. Each track will consist of three presentations lasting approximately 60 minutes and ranging from introductory 100‐level content to highly technical 400‐level expert sessions.
Each “Sharing the Point Asian Tour” event (sharingthepoint.org) will accommodate between 150-200 people. Please note that SharePoint community events of this type have been known to reach capacity within 24 hours of the opening of registration, and the waiting list is typically between 200-300 people.
