Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia, 2011/02/15 - Subaru Australia starts the new year in an impressive way, achieving a total of 3,531 vehicles sold in January. Leading the best-sellers are the Impreza, Forester and the Outback.

After a record-setting sales performance in 2010, Subaru is poised to break records in 2011 as well.
A total of 3,531 vehicles sold in January gave Subaru a 4.8% market share. The Impreza also set a new monthly record with 1,765 units sold. This represents an increase of 102.2% from January 2010 and also beats Impreza’s previous monthly best of 1,597 units sold last May 2010.
Other units with strong performances were the Forester with 905 units sold and the Outback with 475 units sold.
According to Nick Senior, Managing Director of Subaru Australia, “It was a strong start to the year for Subaru and with our revised Forester line-up just going into showrooms, customers will have even greater choice from our range in the coming weeks.”
The Liberty sold 304 units and the Tribeca sold 78, completing Subaru’s impressive January sales performance.
Also setting record January sales are Subaru of America and Subaru Canada.
Subaru of America reported a record January sales of 18, 858 vehicles, an increase of 21% from January 2010 sales. Their best-sellers in January include the Outback with 6,980 units sold and the Forester with 5,806 units sold. Outback sales enjoyed a 27.7% increase and Forester sales increased by 17.5%
Another January best-seller for Subaru of America was the Legacy.
Subaru Canada likewise achieved a January sales record of 1,753 vehicles sold – an increase of 1.4% over January 2010. This strong start is in line with Subaru Canada’s trend of annual sales increases for the past five years.
Their best-sellers include the Outback with a sales increase of 15.7% over January 2010 and the Forester with a sales increase of 2.7%.
