UK dealer group Perrys saw traffic increase by two-thirds to its new automotive content online magazine in December 2010, rounding off a great year inaugural year for the content channel.
Managed by AutoContent (autocontent.co.uk), which has five years of experience in providing content for online automotive publications, the content channel is one of the first of its kind for a UK-based dealership.
Overall traffic to the Perrys content channel was up by over 68 per cent in December 2010 on the previous month making it the seventh consecutive month traffic has increased to the content channel since it was launched in April last year.
In that time, the number of visitors to the website has increased by an average of 40 per cent each month as more unique automotive content and multimedia is added.
Designed to drive traffic towards the Perrys website, the online magazine features the latest car news, reviews, guides and opinion aimed at customers actively in the buying cycle.
Nearing 1,000 news, reviews, blogs and guides on the site since last March; the number of pages of targeted content is expected to rise to 1,500 by the first anniversary of the online magazine in April.
Perrys Group Marketing Executive Louise Dunne explained the rationale behind launching an automotive content channel on the Perrys.co.uk website:
“We launched the content channel to provide visitors to Perrys.co.uk with valuable research tools and information and to enhance the overall customer experience on our website.”
“The SEO benefits of a content channel are well documented and it has resulted in an increase in traffic to the Perrys website.”
The content channel is written, designed and maintained by Auto Content, which also produces content for in-house websites MotorTorque.com, Askaprice.com and Oneswoop.com as well as producing content for other external clients such as General Motors and Lex Autolease.
Auto Content also produces original photography of Perrys stock, as well as video reviews of Perrys cars, while sister company Auto Coders designed and built the content channel to complement existing Perrys designs.
