A relatively untouched market due to its remoteness and lack of technological advancements, the region of Micronesia, as well as the surrounding regions in the Pacific Ocean, have always been in the shadows of the limelight of more popular world travel destinations. Oceania, which is the general term given to describe all the regions in the Pacific Ocean, is made up of Micronesia, Polynesia, Melanesia, Australia and the rest of the tiny islands which dot the Pacific Ocean. Even in today's modern society, many of the hundreds of islands in Oceania have very little or no information about them online because they are so remote, and many lack the technology needed to have a presence on the web. The fact that it is so difficult to travel to these remote destinations means there isn't really much in depth travel information out there about these destinations.
According to management, Imagine Travel is the perfect travel company to raise awareness about this region because the company is headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii. As part of its overall business plan for the year 2011, Imagine Travel will be sending a group of travel professionals made up of photographers, travel writers, as well as a business development manager to expand travel services into the Oceania region, specifically in Micronesia.
