A relatively untouched market due to its remoteness and lack of technological advancements, the region of Micronesia, as well as the surrounding regions in the Pacific Ocean, have always been in the shadows of the limelight of more popular world travel destinations. Well not anymore if the online travel portal, Imagine Travel, follows through with its recent announcement to expand its services in Micronesia and other regions in the Pacific Ocean.

Corporate management of the online travel and vacation guide recently announced it has started a business development campaign to bring this region of the world into the eyes of the global tourism industry by offering more robust travel service offerings and online travel guides about the region collectively known as Oceania.

Oceania, which is the general term given to describe all the regions in the Pacific Ocean, is made up of Micronesia, Polynesia, Melanesia, Australia and the rest of the tiny islands which dot the Pacific Ocean. Even in today's modern society, many of the hundreds of islands in Oceania have very little or no information about them online because they are so remote, and many lack the technology needed to have a presence on the web. The fact that it is so difficult to travel to these remote destinations means there isn't really much in depth travel information out there about these destinations.

According to management, Imagine Travel is the perfect travel company to raise awareness about this region because the company is headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii. "Being located in Polynesia, we are in close proximity to have our team of travel professionals visit the various regions of Oceania, and expand global awareness of the hundreds of islands as travel destinations for those travelers looking to explore the remotest parts of the globe" stated the company's management.

As part of its overall business plan for the year 2011, Imagine Travel will be sending a group of travel professionals made up of photographers, travel writers, as well as a business development manager to expand travel services into the Oceania region, specifically in Micronesia. The team is already on the island of Guam with plans to visit Saipan the following month. Development of the website's sections specific to the Micronesia region has already begun. Visitors can see the progress of the development of the Guam and Saipan website sections by visiting the online travel portal.
