On December 15, 2010, LRQA gained accreditation from the American National Accreditation Board (ANAB) to deliver accredited certification to AS9100:2009 Rev C and AS9120:2009 Rev A, the quality management standards specific to the aviation, space and defense industries.

As one of the first certification bodies to achieve accreditation for the new AS standards, this accreditation demonstrates LRQA’s competencies and capabilities in AS9100 and AS9120 and enables LRQA to issue certification to AS9100:2009 and AS9120:2009 from January 1, 2011.

LRQA’s accreditation follows the release of revisions to AS9100 and AS9120 by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) in 2009. The newest revisions of the standards introduce additional requirements for aviation, space or defense organizations’ quality management systems and also for bodies seeking to deliver accredited certification.
