Bitrix® Intranet helps ESP Engineering to streamline internal operations and increase staff performance, awareness and motivation

ESP Engineering is the largest Russian private engineering company and involved in power equipment design, construction, procurement, and maintenance. The company is a part of the En+ Group, one of the world’s leading production and processing consortiums, with $19b+ net turnover and 100,000+ employees worldwide.
Each large company inevitably meets the same challenge associated with staff performance, awareness and motivation. ESP considered solving this challenge to be crucial for future business development and decided to address the problem by implementing an intranet solution that could enable information flow and corporate culture management, broadcast unified standards and values, as well as increase staff satisfaction based on the principles of social parity between different employee levels.
"We decided on a commercial intranet solution featuring out-of-the-box functionality developed by a vendor with an established reputation and proven track of successful implementations," said Victor Dronov, HR Director of ESP. "This was the main reason to go ahead with Bitrix in this project."
The implementation was divided into several stages according to the approved intranet adoption strategy. At the first step, the company deployed an enterprise-wide social network ensuring horizontal communications among staff. This allowed the intranet to promote itself and created a basis for implementation of other functionality: collaboration, business process automation and e-learning. ESP was extremely satisfied with the flexibility which Bitrix Intranet offered in the adoption process that perfectly matched the company’s intranet strategy.
As a result of the step-by-step intranet strategy, ESP Engineering successfully automated mission-critical business processes, increasing their effectiveness and progressively involving employees into the development of the enterprise-wide collaboration workspace.
"Intranet adoption is always about employee involvement. Without a clear and well-thought strategy that addresses user preferences and interests, an intranet project is rather doomed to be a simple file silo not a valuable tool that contributes to the business performance. We value this project as an illustrative example of a proper intranet strategy that resulted in the solution’s smooth adoption and attaining its status of a corporate backbone for the key business activities", said Dmitry Valyanov, President of Bitrix, Inc.
