Voices in Harmony men's chorus announced today that they will perform at the San Francisco 49ers “Hometown Heroes” themed game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, December 12, 2010 to be held at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, Calif. The game theme is to honor veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Voices in Harmony will be featured during the pregame recognition ceremony set to begin at approximately 12:40 p.m., where wounded veterans affiliated with the “Wounded Warrior Project” will be saluted for their bravery. Voices in Harmony will also perform around the stadium prior to the start of the ceremony.
“We are honored to be part of such an important event recognizing our men and women in uniform that serve, and have served our country,” said Dr. Greg Lyne, Musical and Artistic Director of Voices in Harmony.”
Kick-off is set for 1:05 pm.
About Voices in Harmony
Founded in 2006 and based in San Jose, Calif., Voices in Harmony (vihchorus.org) is under the musical direction of Dr. Greg Lyne. Under his leadership, they have rapidly become one of the finest men’s a cappella choruses in the world. The chorus is an award-winning, non-paid, all volunteer chorus known around the world for its commitment to musical excellence of technically demanding close harmonies. Officially, Voices in Harmony is the Bay Area Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, its professional organization. While associated with barbershop singing, Voices in Harmony sings repertoire that encompasses a wide array of other musical styles. The chorus provides singing, music and performance education opportunities, as well as youth harmony programs in communities within Silicon Valley and throughout Northern California. A 501 (c)(3) arts organization, the chorus is self-sustaining through gifts, performance fees, admissions to shows, and sales of recordings and merchandise.
