DB Technology Gears Up for Its Next Generation Document Management Products, Signs On Top Notch Development Manager.
For more than a decade Ackerson, 45, has been developing business solutions for healthcare, DB Technology’s most fertile target market, with a base of 150 healthcare customers. Ackerson has also gained a notable reputation for developing in the programming technology currently used in RAS.

RAS, especially known for improving healthcare financial management and patient accounting, captures and consolidates data from multiple information silos into a centralized database for document management processing, workflow, archiving and authorized access. Ackerson will manage the team and serve as senior developer for the next version of RAS, which will shift to a Web-based version in 2011. Enhanced document management and imaging capabilities with back-end support for other health information technology platforms are also on tap for 2011. Ackerson will grow the development team by 30 percent in the next 12 months.
Ackerson has 20 years of pertinent development experience in document management and electronic medical records. As a senior programmer for his previous employer, Aergo Solutions, Ackerson developed the document management component for the company’s workflow product Escort, which is designed for hospital patient accounting systems.
Ackerson’s healthcare development credits also include Web-accessed patient medication and lab management products for physicians, home medical equipment management systems for medical supply stores and patient monitoring for home healthcare agencies. He also ran his own consulting practice, and developed and supported a debugging tool actually used by DB Technology engineers.
