One of Simon's early works has been acquired by the National Art Gallery in D.C.

Lenore Simon is an 82 year-old artist who is having an exhibition at Art & Framing Solutions in San Diego. The remarkable thing about this event is that it features work from 1948 – present and shows the evolution of a master graphic artist and printmaker.

This year, the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC acquired one of Simon’s etchings for its collection. Associate Curator Owens requested biographical information about the artist, and was happy to be able to contact Simon in person to find out more about her life story.

Simon’s early print work consisted of limited editions of hand-pulled prints created on a printing press. Simon’s most recent work consists of computer prints that are printed on a high-quality printer using graphic paper and then each one is individually hand-enhanced to create a unique item.

Simon is an inspiration to all who know her. This delightful lady is warm and generous, encouraging creativity and bringing out the full potential of all her students. Her work reflects the mood of the culture around her and has evolved over the years so that it is now an exciting collection of life images.

Saturday, December 4th 2010 is the opening reception for Simon’s December exhibition. This free event is open to the public and is a wonderful opportunity to meet the artist in person. For those collectors who are unable to attend, a virtual gallery will open that same week.
