EricaNight.com (1811159 Ontario Corp.) announces the acquisition and launch of its online dating website. The site offers Facebook like features including audio/video profiles, blog, news feeds, location aware searches, and more.
“We're very pleased with the acquisition, and excited to have acquired one of the most advanced dating sites out there today.” says Rick Albrecht, CEO of 1811159 Ontario Corp. Rick has been involved with other enterprise sites such as Match.com, Ashley Madison, and Dating.com. "I believe the most important thing about this site, is that we don’t send emails to our members, we don’t spam, or promote fake accounts. We're actively back checking for duplicate content on other popular sites, and known spam accounts to permanently ban spammers."
“With the growing popularity of social networking, it made perfect sense to purchase something as close to Facebook for the dating market.” the source says. “So many people turn to social networking sites as a way to meet new people for relationships, we are making EricaNight.com familiar, enjoyable and professional feel to give our members a fresh new way of dating,” Mr. Albrecht adds.
A company source says that Erica Night (ericanight.com) was acquired from a Toronto Developer named Mike Curry. Mr. Curry has been involved with other successful start-ups in early 2003 where he formed GridOnTap.com, a Virtual Super Computing company that was used for growing Virtual Crystals at Harvard, as well as a more controversial use, where he circumvented the security used on the original Xbox entertainment systems. In 2005 Electronic Arts (EA) acquired a Google like search engine that was based on Super Computing. It's rumored that Mr. Curry had several offers for his dating site software from Plenty Of Fish, and Ashley Madison. Mr. Curry was not immediately available for comments on the acquisition.
