Dr. Ralph G. Perrino, Director of Northern Virginia Tutoring Service and Chairman of the Greater Falls Church Chamber of Commerce, has been appointed to serve on the Board of The Fairfax Partnership for Youth (FPY). FPY was formed in 1997 as an outgrowth of the Fairfax County Community Initiative to Reduce Youth Violence (CIRYV). CIRYV was initiated by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and the School Board in 1996 with the charge of bringing public and private sectors together to develop a shared vision and a comprehensive plan for coordinating efforts to reduce youth violence. FPY engages the community to develop programs and services that address the needs of youth through advocacy and prevention. FPY activities fall into three main areas: Youth Mental Wellness Resources, After-School / Out-of-School Educational Enrichment, and Mentoring Partnerships.

Dr. Perrino brings his unique skill set and experience from both the public and the private sector including Associate Professor (Adjunct), Sociology, Northern Virginia Community College; past President, Washington Independent Services for Educational Resources (WISER); Chairman of the Board of the Greater Falls Church Chamber of Commerce; member of the Falls Church City Education Foundation, The Falls Church Public Schools Business in Education Program, and the Arlington Public Schools Partners in Education Program.

Dr. Perrino was nominated to serve on the Board of FPY by Kieran Sharpe, a Falls Church City School Board member.
