Climbing Mount Kenya Sirimon Route

Mt Kenya Climb - 3 Nights / 5 Days on the Mountain
Park: Mt Kenya National Park
Grade:B- moderate. Up to 6.5 hours / 15 miles per day
Approximate Trekking Distance: 60 KMS
Starts : Nairobi/ Ends : Nairobi
Departure Day: Any Day
Accommodation: Standard Bandas and Tent While trekking
Minimum Pax: 2 participants
Activities: Hiking and trekking, plants naming, bird watching , wildlife encounter, photography

Mount Kenya Hiking Sirimon Route Climbing Tour

DAY I: Nairobi - Nanyuki
Departure from Nairobi is at 0900 hrs (either from hotel or airport) to Nanyuki. The drive takes about 3 and half hours with 10 minutes stopover at the Africana Curio shop for washroom and stretching, we then depart and drive for another one and a half hours with brief stopover at the Equator for photography and Continue to Nanyuki where you check in your hotel. Afternoon is spend preparing for the hike. Dinner and overnight at the Nanyuki Simbas Lodge.

DAY 2: Nanyuki to Old Moses Camp
After breakfast transfer from your hotel to Sirimon gate we spend about 20 minutes for park entry formalities and then hike to Old Moses Camp (Judmair Camp) for dinner and overnight (3300m), This takes 3 to 4 hrs hikes (9 kms). Old Moses is where you acclimatize as you also come across different vegetation.

DAY 3: Old Moses Camp to Shipton's Camp
After breakfast Hike to Shipton's camp (4200m )through Liki and Makinders valley for overnight (6 to 8 hrs hikes) 17 kms.

DAY 4: Shipton's Camp Point Lenana to Old Moses
Attempt point Lenana (4985m) at 0300 hrs and descend directly to Old Moses (Judmair) Camp for overnight

Day 5: Old Moses Park Gate to Nairobi
After breakfast descend to Sirimon Park Gate to catch your vehicle to your next destination

Note: The above prices are based on a minimum of 2 persons. A price reduction is available for numbers above two persons. We also offer hotel, car rental and flights bookings which we can organise for you with your tour enquiry.
