Inspired by Joseph Conrad literature, the name Raja Laut means "King of the seas" in Malay, and was an honorific title used in ancient times in the Malay Archipelago (in Southeast Asia). "Raja" is a derivation of the hindustani for king, and in those days the Malay Archipelago was the crossroads between East and West with flourishing entrepots attracting traders from all over the world.
The Raja Laut's cruising grounds include Thailand, the Andaman Islands, the Mergui archipelago, Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia. Together these countries combine to form over twenty five thousand islands. It is the world's largest archipelago by area. It is also the most diverse and exceptional cruising destination in the world. Today these islands are more accessible than ever.
