Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, famously known for their award-winning hand-tossed, coal-fired brick oven pizzas are now partnering with SanTan Brewery on the ultimate pizza and craft brew pairing. With both businesses emphasizing pairing driven menus and top quality ingredients, this highly anticipated promotion is sure to impact the local dining community.
In the past decade, Grimaldi’s has brought over 100-years of pizza making traditions and the tantalizing aroma of pizza and calzones baked to perfection, in the signature coal burning oven. While they have offered select wine and pizza pairings the chance to work with a local business of the caliber of San Tan Brewery, has proven a perfect partnership. Both businesses are locally owned and operated out of the Phoenix area. Head Chef Cory Lattuca and Head Brewer Anthony Canecchia are currently developing the ultimate pairing of coal fired pizza and the west coast pale ale, Devil’s Ale.

Designed and built by hand, the coal-fired oven at Grimaldi’s Pizzeria delivers a unique flavor and consistency that is just not possible from wood or gas ovens. Weighing in at 25 tons and heated by 100 pounds of coal per day (cleanest burning fuel available and environmentally tested), the oven heats up to 1,200 degrees. In 2007, the historic Valley National Bank, in Downtown Chandler was transformed into a destination for Craft Beer and food lovers alike with the opening of SanTan Brewing Company.
