On June 23, 2010 in San Jose, Costa Rica, Michael Ramdohr, LRQA South Americam Business Center Manager, presented an ISO 14001 certificate to the executive management team of BAC CREDOMATIC, the first financial institution in Central America to be ISO 14001 certified.
BAC has been an ISO 9001 certified client since 2001, and their environmental management system has helped the company to successfully reduce its overall power consumption by 5%, improve its infrastructure for residual water management and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and achieve a 60% reduction in waste by recycling.
LRQA’s strong relationship with BAC has been built and supported by LRQA Assessor Juan Medina, who was recognized by the CEO, Mr Ernesto Castegnaro, for his excellent assessment skills during the certificate presentation. The strong relationship between LRQA and BAC is also paving the way for potential future work with BAC in the areas of greenhouse gas verification, health and safety certification to OHSAS 18001 and information security certification to ISO 27001.
