Recent legislation enacted by the State of Maine allows for any individual with a qualifying debilitating illness to apply to the Depart of Health and Human Services for a State ID Card allowing them access to medical marijuana from State Licensed caregivers.
The person must be a Qualifying Patient under Maine law and seek out a Physician's Certification before applying to the State. The person must be recommended by a physician into the program and have the following diseases and/or conditions:
Cancer Glaucoma
HIV
Agitation of Alzheimer's
ALS
Crohns Disease
Hepatitis C
Nail Patella Syndrome
Cachexia
Severe Nausea
Epileptic Seizures
Severe muscle spasms resulting but not limited to MS
Other (other is any debilitating condition resulting in chronic pain that has not responded to treatment for the past 6 mos.)
If you have any of the above illnesses then you may qualify to become a Patient under Maine Law and receive a State of Maine Medical Marijuana ID Card, enabling you safe access to below market medicinal marijuana. Possession of this ID card will provide protection from arrest or imprisonment under The Law, as long as the patient is in compliance with the legal possession limits providing the patient received the medicine from a State Licensed Caregiver.
The Compassionate Caregivers of Maine are a Maine-based Non Profit group helping Maine's sick and eligible patients receive State ID cards allowing them to purchase medical marijuana. The Compassionate Caregivers of Maine (CCM) operate a fully functioning web site that brings together patients and caregivers in an effort to deliver patients the highest quality medical marijuana at affordable prices.
Patients can log onto to CCM's website, MaineMedMarijuana.com, and find the State of Maine's Department of Health and Human Services created forms and also speak with Compassion Agents that are available to assist the qualified patients in properly completing and registering the documentation with the State of Maine in order to receive approval for an ID.
"The Compassionate Caregivers of Maine are all about compliance" said Marty Macisso President of CCM. "We are 100% focused on helping Maine’s qualifying patients navigate through the difficult and confusing process of completing the paperwork in order to receive a medical marijuana ID card."
Recent legislation passed by Maine voters in November allows those Maine residents with debilitating medical conditions such as cancer, AIDS, MLS and incurable pain to seek out a doctor's recommendation to use marijuana as a form of treatment. The physician's certification allows a patient to apply to DHHS for an ID card that enables them to legally purchase, possess and grow marijuana for medical use. If you are among the thousands who will not be growing your own medical marijuana, CCM will align you with one of their registered caregivers who will act as your resource for medicine.
