Kieron will be responsible for ensuring that WTG continues to grow as a technology leader and remains focused on providing customers with solutions and services which meet the extreme challenges organisations across government are currently facing.
Prior to joining WTG, Kieron held a number of executive management roles for technology solutions and services vendors, and has led various funding acquisitions and exits in the security and telecoms sectors. These roles all required strong leadership and direction, group-wide re-engineering and business strategy work to develop high value solutions sales into new and existing markets. Recent ventures include the transformation and sale of Boldon James to QinetiQ for £20m in October 2008, and the £3.5m Management Buy-In of Clearswift’s Specialist Products business in December 2009, now renamed Deep-Secure Ltd.
Kieron brings a wealth of experience helping government organisations deliver real benefits through the implementation of effective, secure technology solutions and strategies. In addition Kieron sits on advisory boards for the British Government’s UK Trade and Invest (Defence & Security Organisation) and various Private Equity houses.
“I am excited about joining WTG, particularly given our strong reputation and track record delivering effective online solutions into secure environments, our customers are all ‘A’ list government agencies,” said Sambrook-Smith. “I am looking forward to helping WTG achieve the ambitious growth targets we have set and strengthening our position as a leading advisor to the public sector on how best to utilise online solutions to achieve secure information exchange requirements, particularly at a time when efficiency and costs saving are so key.”
Chris Conway, Chairman of WTG commented: “Kieron’s appointment at WTG is further evidence of our ambition and drive to provide the best possible solutions and services to our customers. Kieron not only brings experience and proven leadership to the role of CEO, but provides the drive we need to move the organisation forward.”
