XSEARCH Linguistik serves as an add-on to any kind of search system. Most of the European languages including German are covered. It is an integrated system of linguistic and statistical functions as:
• the identification of basic forms (Lemmatisation)
• the splitting of compound words (German and Dutch)
• compound algorithm (Finite State Technologie)
• the generation of inflexed forms (Generation)
• the access to synonyms and thesauri.

• the translation of terms into other languages
• the generation of syntactical correct word groups (phrasal generation)
• the identification of all variants of a stem of a given word (linguistic stemming).
Supported languages: Danish, Dutch, German, English, French, Greek, Italian, Latin, Polish, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Complete linguistic platform
XSEARCH Linguistik in fact is a complete linguistic platform and is working in a multitude of different applications. It carries out a (morpho-syntactic) analysis of most of the European languages. Besides the analyze function, it contains a whole series of linguistic functions.
Dictionary based
Basis of the system are dictionaries whose number of entries vary from approx. 500,000 up to 1,8 million entries. Different (domain) specific dictionaries are also available.
For the German, a dictionary of about 1,8 million entries was built up. In addition, special dictionaries with split German compounds (> 900.000 entries) and a French dictionary with accentless entries (like methode for méthode) etc. are available.
Synoyms
For German there is a dictionary of 90,000 synonyms and related word forms with 150,000 entries and a thesaurus. There are 36,000 English and 25,000 French synonyms available.
Cross-lingual Search
The lemmata can be translated into another language so that a cross-lingual search becomes possible.
Private Dictionaries
Private dictionaries can be created by the customer himself and can be added to the system.
System Architecture
The system has a client/server architecture, however, a DLL is also provided.
XSEARCH Linguistik is available as simple C++-DLL, as TCP/IP-Server and as COM/DCOM - Server. The C++-DLL can be integrated directly in client programs. Any client system can communicate with the Server using a simple protocol; requests can be formulated as strings. In most of the installations, the server version is choosen.
