“We are very excited to welcome Kristina to the Ellianos Family. She has incredible energy and enthusiasm, and we are certain she will make an excellent addition to the Ellianos Family. We are also looking forward to expanding in Georgia and to be able to bring superior quality specialty coffee to the Waycross area,” commented Ellianos Founder, Scott Stewart.
Kristina was introduced to Ellianos Coffee Company while attending Valdosta State University. After several months of research and planning, she decided to take the step into business ownership with Ellianos because, “I want to invest in a product that I believe in, and I love the products that I purchased at Ellianos in Valdosta and Lake City.” Ms. King added, “I also love the drive-thru specialty coffee concept, the people involved with Ellianos, and I truly believe in the company.”
Kristina King comes to Ellianos with management experience and franchise experience as the unit director of marketing for Chick-Fil-A in Amelia Island, FL. Although she currently resides in Jacksonville, FL, Kristina King chose the Waycross, GA location for her first Ellianos because she was born and raised in Waycross, and both of her parents were also raised in the area. She wanted to begin her business in the community where she spent the majority of her life.
Kristina holds a degree in Business Administration from Valdosta State University, and plans to use her education and management experience to drive success in her new business venture with Ellianos Coffee Company. She will work as the manager in her Waycross Ellianos so she can learn as much as possible about the Ellianos operating systems and the specialty coffee business. She also plans to eventually own several Ellianos franchises, and become a multi store franchisee.
When asked what intrigues her the most about taking the leap into business ownership, Ms, King responded, “I have always worked for someone else working to the best of my ability, giving everything I have to jobs and projects that I have completed; many times giving credit to others for the work I had done. Now, as a business owner, I know that the quality and consistency of my products and services will be a direct reflection of how hard I am willing to work myself, and that when my customers are satisfied with a great product, I will finally get to take some of the credit for the work that I have done.”
Ellianos Coffee Company (ellianos.com) was founded in Lake City, FL in 2002 by businessman and coffee lover Scott Stewart with the help of his wife Pam and their family. The company has grown to a franchise with 8 operating locations in North Florida and South Georgia. The company plans a steady growth strategy to add more stores and franchisees within the coming years.
According to the Specialty Coffee Association of America, the specialty coffee industry sales in the US at year end of 2003 was estimated at $8.96 billion, with almost $1 billion in sales attributed to coffee ‘kiosks’, defined as coffee operations with no customer seating.
The National Coffee Associations drinking trend survey found that in 2004 an estimated 56% of the adult population in the United States drink specialty coffee occasionally, while16% drink specialty coffee everyday. With a population of about 1 million in Jacksonville, that is an estimated 160,000 daily specialty coffee drinkers.
