Enterprise Asset Services, Inc (Asset Services), a Kansas City based provider of fixed asset inventory service solutions, recently completed an Information Technology Asset inventory for a multinational motion picture and entertainment company’s studios and offices, internationally. The project consisted of affixing barcode property tags on all IT equipment, entering pertinent descriptive data about each piece of equipment in hand-held bar code scanners, such as manufacturer, model, serial number, and location. Inventoried locations consisted of five cities in the US, and 30 cities in 23 countries throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, North and South America, and the Middle East. Approximately $40,000,000 of IT equipment was inventoried.
The information gathered by Asset Services’ Inventory Specialists will enable the client to better maintain and track IT assets for repair, replacement, insurance and tax, and capital budgeting.
Asset Services overcame numerous challenges including a short lead time and short project duration. Due to the immediacy of the project and the short deadline, Asset Services had to move fast and be extremely flexible. With only two weeks to prepare from the signing of the contract until the project start date, Scott Wyckoff, CEO, commented “our personnel had to adapt to short-notice changes and quite often adjust their schedules at a moment’s notice. We had times where we were sitting at a train station or airport in Europe, and had to change our destination in order to meet the client’s ever changing needs. Being a smaller company enabled Asset Services to be flexible with the changing environment, as there was less red tape to deal with when these challenges occurred.”
Asset Services completed the project on time and on budget.
