The Modular Control System is used for one or more of the following reasons:

• To control or interface to three or more external devices;
• To receive input from more than one external device or system;
• To illuminate fixture-mounted LED’s.

The Modular Control System consists of the following modules:

• Master Controller: Connects to the NX Tester’s serial port with a Serial Transfer Cable. The Master Controller is the interface between the NX Tester and one or more of the other modules.

• Output Module: Provides eight independently operable relays. Each relay has two sets of contacts configured as DPST. The Output Module is used when the NX Tester needs to control or interface to more than two external devices. A common application is for relay testing, where there are more than two relays in the wire harness.

• LED Module: Illuminates 32 fixture-mounted LED’s.

• Input Module: Provides eight control inputs. The Input Module is used when the NX Tester needs to receive input from two or more external devices or systems.

These modules are designed to connect together directly, eliminating the need for intervening cabling or wires.
