Posie Packer Corp. (posiepacker.com) is a Canadian agri-machine manufacturer of equipment for high volume processing and packaging of fresh cut flowers and labeling produce bags. The new produce bag labeling machine can handle plain, gusseted or zip lock produce bags as well as apply a second label (merchandizing) during the same machine cycle. The modular format used in this strictly electro-mechanical machine, allows it to be easily customized for a particular sized plastic bag required by a produce item (apples, potatoes, carrots, and citrus etc.) and/or a required label location. The machine will allow packers to use existing automatic bag filling equipment. The label could be imprinted with any or all of the following information: SSI-EID code, RFID code, PIDC code or PO release, Julian Date, Lot Number, Military or Standard Time, PLU or Commodity code, Company Name, Country and State of Origin, Harvest Crew or Member ID, and Certification. This machine will minimize the labor costs associated with meeting today's need for food safety and product traceability.
