The San Diego Food Bank expects around 60 people to participate, an impressive number for the tournament’s first year. The funds raised will be presented to the San Diego Food Bank, which will in turn go to feed San Diego County’s hungry.

“Community service is an important part of what we do. Dixon Golf donates ten percent of its profits to charity, so our sponsorship of this tournament aligns perfectly with our corporate principles,” said William Carey, CEO of Dixon Golf.

Along with their sponsorship of the tournament, Dixon Golf will also be donating two hybrid golf clubs worth more than $150 each and promotional booklets worth more than $300 in Dixon Golf balls to be auctioned off. All proceeds will benefit the San Diego Food Bank.

Food Bank CEO J. Scofield Hage said, “We are so grateful to Dixon Golf for supporting the Food Bank and helping us feed more people in need. Our partnership with Dixon Golf will help us raise much needed funding for the Food Bank which will be critical this year with demand continuing to soar. The San Diego Food Bank does important work, and we’re happy that Dixon Golf recognizes that. We hope to continue the Harry D. Frels Memorial Golf Tournament for years to come,” said J. Scofield Hage, San Diego Food Bank CEO.
