After much anticipation, Chicago Agent magazine released its third annual Who’s Who issue on Monday, June 7, with the digital issue following shortly after on June 11. To accompany the issue, CA held a release party for the industry elite and their guests on Tuesday, June 9 at Hotel Felix’s Elate. In attendance at the event were industry members featured in the issue, such as Baird & Warner’s Millie Rosenbloom and Real Living Helios’ Tripti Kasal, as well as others who simply came by to witness the issue as soon as possible, like Jameson Real Estate’s Chris Feurer and Mike Sato and Magellan Development Group’s founder Joel Carlins.
One of the magazine’s most popular issues of the year, the full-color, Who’s Who issue holds photographs and biographies of important and well-known figures in the Chicagoland real estate industry. Developers, agents, brokers, marketers, lenders and more are all gathered together inside the 72-page issue in an effort to highlight those who have worked so hard to find success during the recent challenging market. Fifty-five total participants were featured, and the familiar industry faces were included due to their standing today and achievements over the last year.
Inside the issue are a number of industry veterans who have graced CA’s pages a few times, as well as up-and-coming professionals who have just started out on their own. Chicago Association of Realtors’ CEO Ginger Downs has been in the last three issues, while Jameson Real Estate’s Jim Murrin made his first appearance to introduce his new firm, Your Debt Solutions Inc. Other participants were Saylor R.R. Stamm, vice president of sales and marketing, Ryland Homes; Ken Perlmutter and Steve Laner, president and vice president of PERL Mortgage; and Chris Eigel and Michael Pierson, president/chairman and CEO of Prudential Rubloff. Last year’s cover featured Sean Conlon, who participated again this year along with his partners Rich Kasper and Tim Sheahan. Appearing on the 2010 cover are three people who represent completely different facets of the industry: Jameson’s auction specialist José Colón, Tricia Brouwers of Fifth Third Bank and Scott Gill, managing broker of Baird & Warner Winnetka.
To celebrate the issue release, CA held a private, invite-only party at Elate restaurant. The lounge atmosphere of Elate provided the perfect setting in the conveniently located Hotel Felix as the issue was showcased for all to see. Outtakes from the photo shoot were featured on the bar’s flat-screen TVs, and Chicago Agent filmed segments for Agent TV. In attendance at the event were a number of guests featured in the magazine, as well as other high-profile industry members that wanted to get a first glimpse, such as Jerry Fogelson, chairman, Fogelson Properties; Buzz Ruttenberg, founder, Belgravia Group; and Dan Mclean, president, MCL Companies.
In addition to being the first people to lay eyes on the Who’s Who issue, guests of the magazine enjoyed complimentary beer, wine and hors d’oeuvres, care of Elate. Attendants were also entered into a raffle for a $100 gift certificate at Elate, and the lucky winner of the night was Nicole Fabiano of Your Debt Solutions Inc.
