Established in 1977 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, BC Surf & Sport has grown to more than 18 locations nationwide and, after opening its doors at Flatirons Mall almost a decade ago, continues to hold unique skateboard events for Broomfield, Westminster, Louisville, and the surrounding communities. Now in its 4th year, the BC BBQ TOUR will feature an array of personalities and prizes from the action-sports industry, making it the only local skateboard festival of its kind in Denver and the surrounding locales.
Started in 2006, the Annual BC BBQ Tour will hit five skateparks, giving kids and parents the opportunity to interact with the BC sponsored skateboard team, get free burgers and hot dogs cooked by team manager Brian Quintana, and get tons of free product from over 10 different action sports companies and local businesses.
The dates are as follows, with all BBQs starting at noon (12:00 PM) unless otherwise noted, and lasting until 4 or 5 pm. All BBQ will feature skaters, tents/booths from skateboard companies including eS Footwear, SkullCandy Headphones, Billabong Clothing, Bones Skateboard Wheels, and the first stop will be catered by Chipotle Mexican Grill’s location at McCaslin in Louisville.
The schedule is as follows:
June 26 - Louisville Skatepark;
July 10 - Westminster City Park Skatepark;
July 17 - Rock Creek South Recreation Skatepark – Superior, CO;
July 24 - Longmont Sandstone Ranch Skatepark;
August 7 - Grand Opening of the new Team Pain skatepark in Broomfield, CO.
Each stop will have exclusive coverage by all BC Surf & Sport outlets (bcsurf.com), including exclusive coverage via Twitter, Facebook, and the retailer’s blog. The final stop in Broomfield, CO may even feature coverage from national magazines such as TheSkateboardMag and Transworld Skateboarding. Also at the culminating event, Team Pain, the world-reknowned skatepark designers and builders, will be a host of professional skateboarders and action-sports celebrities to be announced the day of the event.
