The affordable Pun M is a faster alternative to a chisel and hammer, producing more accurate straight finger and finger-over-finger punches.

The lightweight, ergonomic design of the Pun M makes it easy to set up and operate for on-the-job repairs, while its speed has solidified its place in the workshop as well. No external energy source is required as the Pun M operates solely on manpower. A punching force of 11,000 lbs. (50kN) is created by pulling a simple hand-actuated lever.

The Pun M comes in three standard widths – 12”, 24”, 36” (300, 600, 900 mm). Its open-ended design makes it possible for operators to punch wider belts in multiple steps. To punch a belt using the Pun M, one belt end is positioned against the end stop and then clamped in place. Precise fingers are punched with each lever pull.

“Punching fingers into belts wider than the tool is easy. Simply punch the first section, then index the tool to the next section and continue,” said Beth Miller, director of marketing for Flexco.

Three punch boards are available for use with the Pun M. The 70 x 15 mm and 80 x 20 mm sizes can be used for standard finger punches, while the 50 x 20 mm (35 mm overlap) can be used for finger-over-finger punches. A storage location for additional boards is built into the unit for easy transportation and use.

Other punches available from Flexco include the Pun P™ and the Pun W™. All of these punches can be used in conjunction with other tools in the line, including the Aero™ Press and the Ply 130 Separator.
