Ecotech Institute, the first and only college focused entirely on preparing America’s workforce for careers in renewable energy and sustainable design, today announced that Glenn Wilson will serve as the school’s dean of students.

Glenn Wilson brings more than 30 years of education, engineering and sustainability-focused experience to the position. In his previous roles, he has a proven track record of improving efficiency, lowering costs, reducing energy usage, implementing green practices and creating a sense of community within companies.

“Incoming Ecotech Institute students need a leader with the knowledge and passion to take them from learners into successful members of the green economy,” said Michael Seifert, President at Ecotech Institute. “We are delighted for Glenn Wilson to join the Ecotech team, as his past experience will bring valuable insight and inspiration to our programs and students.”

Before joining Ecotech Institute, Glenn was the program director for clean energy technology at Front Range Community College in Fort Collins, Colorado. In addition to developing the associate’s degree in Clean Energy Technology, Glenn taught several of the classes, including energy and manufacturing, AC/DC, statistical process control and digital devices.

Glenn received his master’s of science in engineering management from the University of Missouri; a bachelor’s of science in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado and holds a professional engineering license.

“I am thrilled to begin working with the students at Ecotech Institute,” said Wilson. “With at least 5 million new green jobs on the horizon in this country, I look forward to helping students become the educated workforce that is so desperately needed.”
