ELEKS Software, a global software services provider, and Kotrak Group, a leading provider of IT solutions for small and medium business in Poland, announced a partnership whereby the Kotrak Group would maintain the exclusive rights to promote and support the Medical Information System “Doctor Eleks” in the Polish market.
Doctor Eleks is an advanced medical information system that was recently recognized as the “Most Innovative Product” at the 3rd International Forum on Innovative Technologies for Medicine “ITMED 2009”, held in Bialystok, Poland in December, 2009. The modular system automates all aspects of patient management and is used in small-scale doctor’s offices, mid-sized clinics and large hospitals. Doctor Eleks eliminates paperwork, so physicians can concentrate more on patient care and less on entering and storing data manually.

Under the terms of the agreement, Kotrak Group acquires exclusive rights to sell a localized version of the Doctor Eleks system in the Polish market. Kotrak Group will act as both a reseller and implementation partner for the system in Poland. Additionally, their experts will be involved in the adaptation of the product and will provide technical support to its local customers.

The Doctor Eleks system has a large and growing customer base in Ukraine, Eastern Europe, and Poland, and is seen as the next strategic market as pressure builds in the healthcare field to automate and manage the flow of medical records - digitally. The system uses innovative technologies to create highly customizable physician examination templates covering almost all specialties and allows patient’s data to be stored in a single Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Doctor Eleks integrates with a variety of electronic medical devices that support the “Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine” (DICOM) standard. Additionally, the built-in “Picture Archiving and Communication System” (PACS) module manages the storage and processing of video and graphic images captured by a wide range of diagnostic equipment, such as ultrasound, colposcopes, endoscopes and CAT scanners. And lastly, the system is designed to collaborate securely with systems located in external laboratories and other healthcare institutions leveraging “Health Level 7” (HL7), the international standard for the exchange and sharing of vital electronic medical records.
